“Vancouver finally achieves transcendence through drone. Quiet City looks to provide a proper home for the deep-listening experience.” -Scout Network

Established in January 2010, Quiet City is a series of deep-listening concerts focused on live performances of experimental, electronic, and improvised music. What started as a showcase of local talent for a few years eventually became a noteworthy stop on the international touring circuit. Over the last decade, Quiet City has worked with Simon Fraser University, Vancouver New Music, VIVO Media Arts Centre, The Toast Collective, New Forms Festival, Surrey Art Gallery, Or Gallery, Blim Arts Facility, The Lido, Deep Blue, The Fox, The Rattle, and Co-op Radio to host and present 68 concerts.

Quiet City would like to remember and acknowledge some of the spaces in our community that have closed over the past few years, including Solder & Sons, 247 Main, ROYGBIV, Selectors Records, W2 Storyeum & Media Cafe, Merge, Remington Gallery, 333, and Skylight Gallery. We've witnessed an incredible amount of growth in our weirdo music community, and hope to continue building bridges and connecting people in the years to come. Huge thanks to our audience of loyal listeners and all of the artists who've showcased their work over the years. We're proud to celebrate this milestone with all of you.

The second half of our 10-year anniversary showcase is the following (Saturday) night at VIVO Media Arts Centre:
